I've tried the official xbox forum, no one seems to have any ideas, so, although not strictly a computer issue, anyone help on this? Xbox is connected to NIC port via a network bridge on a PC. PC is wirelessly connected to an ad-hoc network. After about 20 to 30 minutes of use, the connection to live is interrupted, but can usually be re-connected after a couple of minutes. The wireless connection (and internet) is not interrupted to the host PC. We've replaced the crossover cable, the NIC card, and are now starting to suspect a fault in the console. Pings are around the 21ms mark and (apart from around 30 seconds prior to the disconnection) there is no lag when playing. Wireless network connection strength is around 65%. We have removed encryption and security but this hasn't helped. OS XP Pro.
