What is the general concensus out there? We are all sick of the bull**** What do we really want??? Spread the word, this in principle agreement better be bloody good or we are screwed, just like the last EBA.

Oh! The plot thickens. This better not be a bull**** offer from the company or we, the members, will have to be swift and decisive with more industrial action

At the edge of a great f@#king abyss that is where we stand, a year out from the next elections the present exec have us in the palms of their hands and yes only the depth varies.

The high road is upping the ante and using full out IA inc. secondments, higher duties, transit and maint. authorities, rolling stop work meetings, etc, etc, etc.

The low road accepting the companies's FIRST F@#KING OFFER and selling our souls the johnny come lately devils.

But be aware ours is not a road for the faint of heart, the weak of spine or the short of pocket, Mr PH told them we were p@ssweak, shades of men chained to the gravy train these are the things they remembered.

In fact the only thing decent Mr PH said about us was that we were irreplaceable and he didn't meant it as a compliment.

Love us or hate us they desperately need us, don't sway into temptation just yet the companie's got deep pockets (remember 66.6% inc we only want 6.6%)

Oh I almost forgot after EBA VII comes left fist lameless tarmac then right fist heavy maintenance outsourcing Oooooh urgh that's gotta hurt.

Mean Nasty and Tired, You don't seem to be to fond of the current executive. Well you will have your opportunity to vote in a more militant executive next year but just be careful what you wish for. By the end of thier reign you may be wishing for the old executive back, that is if you still have a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!:=

We stand with an Executive that:
1/ Assured us we would be straight into negotiations for THIS EBA after the last EBA debacle.
2/Allowed an expansion of RPT into Non-Maintenance ports.
3/Failed to negotiate the points value of new aircraft and types BEFORE the introduction in Australia. E.g. BBJ, 747-400 ER, 747 LE.
4/Is instrumental in turning a Modification Program into an alternate Heavy Maintenance Base (AVALON), staffed in the greater part by man hire company engineers LAME and Non LAME. On inferior conditions.
5/Takes a middleman cut of the wages of the above engineers in AVALON and is their only ALLOWED union representation. (In a cozy deal cut with Qantas)
6/Failed to address real Occupational Health concerns. E.g. Permanent Night shift guidelines BEFORE introduction (Syd Domestic). Increasing Heavy Maintenance type work on night shift (Base Servicing). Increasing use of overtime and not employees (Line all ports)
7/Spent approx $230,000 on travel and accommodation but will not hire a room/hall in each port to communicate the EBA to members OFF Qantas premises.
8/Negotiates to an inferior position gets an “In Principal Agreement” then PIMPS it to the members on the company’s behalf.

Add an Execuitve Quote:
“At the end of the day boys it’s the best we could get, with SARS, 9/11 and the Asian bird flu”
Or
“ We got the original offer back on the table………………. Without the staff travel”
Or
“We admit we were a little caught out this time, but next time we are going to negotiate early and get what we want”

My 2 cents worth, we are going to get fitted up !!!

They like wearing ties mate!

They like the QF Execs telling them how fair, reasonable and easy they are to deal with!

Its called flattery!

But the final straw is that they are using the company's favourite weapon FUD (fear uncertainty and doubt) on their own members!!!!!!!!

The comment regarding how people might "lose their house" is an absolutely perfect example FUD.

I'm sorry for all of you with an executive like that.
