Hi everybody,

I have a layover in Seoul coming up. Never been there before.
All hints about good places (restaurants, pubs/bars, clubs,...hell even shopping) are more than welcome.

Thanks,

Twieke

Huge city and desperately trying to get bigger. You won't find a place where service is bad, courtesy and politeness are the norm. You will find restaurants break down into expensive and very expensive. Alcohol is steep wherever you go. Everywhere is safe. The smaller Korean and Japanese Restaurants are the best value and have excellent food. I usually stay Downtown in Myeong-Dong (near City Hall). Good connections to the Airport. Wide range of both up-market and budget hotels. Masses of restaurants, bars, coffee-shops, of every shape, size and description, department stores, small shops, markets etc. And if you get completely Korean'd out you can go to O'Kims, the Irish Pub in the basement of the Westin Chosun on Sokong Dong and watch Premier League over a pint or two of Guinness. Oh yes and do the Palaces - stunning if you're into old stuff.
