Hello learned ones,

I now have some webspace to pollute and have downloaded three FTP progs all of which are displaying similar probs. I can create folders within the webspace and can transfer file "headers" ie the file name appears, but with a size of zero. I am uploading using WS-FTP as I type at the treadstripping rate of .3kbs

The Nitty Gritty?

XP Pro, SP2
1 MB B/Band
Netgear Wireless modem/Router
Norton AV/ Internet Security

I have suspicions that the firewall within the router may have something to do with this little lot. Less concerned with Norton this time, as it flagged up all progs nicely upon installation.

Any help, tips or messages of sympathy much appreciated.

Cheers,

John

Hello 'pooter people,

the above prob all fixed now. I upgraded the firmware on the router, via the Netgear UK site and after a nervous minute or two to see whether it had taken, was able to re-establish the connections.

The result, was that uplift speeds are now in the range of 70-170KBS which makes life a bit more tenable than 0.3KBS.

I post this cure in the hope that somebody else out there might make use of it in the future.

thanks to all anyway,

Conan
