try logbook pro

Pro's: great software that breaks everything down to the point

Con's: I have been using this software for years and if you are familiar with technology we all know it breaks. Company only lets you download from internet for one computer, if your laptop craps out you have to buy another copy.

All in all good stuff but when your technolgy fails you lose, be prepared to use backup on newly purchased replacement software

Neil it would be nice if you send us a cd.:ok: :{ :*

I have said it on other threads; i am using (for the last 10 years, with every so many years getting the upgraded version) Aerolog pro (http://www.polarisms.com) its probably one of the lesser known programs but it beats ALL the other crappy logbook's. non of that "1 version download" and it includes a special pocket pc version for on your handheld. I am using it on my IpaQ and it makes live Soooo easy.

No i don't get any kickback for promoting it (eventhough by now i should)

you may not have noticed but cathay aircraft are all equipped with Electronic log book printouts.......otherwise called "Sector Summary's" you print one off after each flight and throw them in a box at home thereby keeping the required record with the minimum of effort...............and if CAD want to inspect your records you just give them the box and let them sort it out !!!!

I use logbook pro with the pocket PC add-on. For the guy above that said you have to buy a new copy if your PC craps out and you have to install it on a new one; NOT TRUE. They send you an email with your registration data in it. You can download the application from the logbook pro website and install it, it will stay in demo mode which will limit it to 50 entries until you click on help then enter registration key/unlock then you will unlock it with your key. Also you can use the backup function listed in the file menu to backup the data every few months and burn it to cd incase your PC did take a crap you would be able to import it after installing logbook pro.

I tried a few of the other electronic logbooks but logbook pro is by far the best out of the ones I tried. You can download a free demo that will limit you to 50 entries until you buy the unlock key at http://www.logbookpro.com/ make sure to take time to learn all the features they really simplify life.
