My old PII 300Mhz W98se is showing its age. I believe I can reduce the number of programmes that run in the background (those that load at start up) but have forgotten how to do this and also reverse the process.
Can anyone help jog my memory?
Thank you in advance.

Sequence below as per XP, but presume something simillar on '98.....

Start > Run... > (type) msconfig > OK > Startup (tab) > check/uncheck Startup items > Apply > OK
