Some questions for you guys, need answers asap please.

The correct way to calculate your decent rate is either?? Grnd speed x 2 or times 5 or times 8?

The point at which the approach is called the IAF, FAF or IAL???

thanks

I'm confused, what do you mean by "Calculate the descent rate"? Do you mean while on an ILS? I'd just look at the VSI.

I'd calculate the distance out for when I wanted to begin a descent maintaining 500 fpm and ariving at 1000 ft AGL say two miles out

IAF = Initial Approach Fix, which is where the (instrument) approach begins.

What do you mean "The approach is called"?

Confused like Onan!
On a 3 degree approach, half the groundspeed in knotsx10 = ROD which is the same as 5xGS in knots=ROD.
