Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any past experience going into (and hopefully out again!) Underbool airstrip in western Victoria.

According to the AOPA guide it's actually 4.5 nm from Underbool on Linga station and is used by the department of NRE (or whatever they're now called) for fuel reduction burning ops.

Got permission to use the strip but all I really know is that the main N-S strip is either 1000m (AOPA) or 1200m (NRE man I spoke to) gravel.

I have some old notes, circa 1990 but can't really remember what it was like. I do recall though, there were 3 cross runways, one of which was U/S at the time.

Use at your own risk and confirm the condition with the operator on the day you go:

UNDERBOOL VIC - 9.55E 35:12:00S 141:43:00E

Unmarked power lines & tower.
Strip located on Linga stat fire bombing strip.
Retardant mix shed has no markings. Can operate 24 hrs.
