Did anyone hear of a C152 from Bankstown that did a forced landing in a field in Condobolin??

Yes, apparently they heard a loud, disturbing screeching noise and put down in a paddock only to find it was just Shannon Noll practicing for an upcoming tour.

wasnt a forced landing, the 152 suffered a partial failure and was only able to maintain about 1500rpm so the pilot did a prec search and landing in the field.

Had something to do with a fuel problem, the left wing was completely empty while the right wing was about half full so there must have been some sort of blockage.

As far as I know all involved were fine but I dont know much else about the situation

Whats a 152 from BK doing all the way out at condobolin.... on holidays or sumfink? sheese you would think that he would drive out there in a 172 or worrier :E

hmm loud screech? i immediatly thought it was an Oil problem in the engine. oh well, Shannon Noll still sucks :}

Least there were not casualtys.

I was flying about a week ago, and a Piper-34 (VH-PGK) had a Radio Failure and got to watch it do a pretty hard landing at Cooly... damn.

I wouldn't have thought a C152 could maintain altitude if the engine was only spinning at 1500rpm. If that was the case, then it would make it a forced landing.

Out of curiosity - was a panpan or mayday call made?

1500 rpm, plenty of flap, around 50kts, pointing at the sky....you'd be looking for somewhere to park, but it'd be better than if it was all quiet up front. i'll give it a go this afternoon :)

I would be supprised if flap helped you reduce the rate of descent???
