Documentary telling the story of a squadron of WWII aircraft which was forced down onto the Greenland icecap in 1942. Although the crew members were rescued, the planes were lost after drifting from their original position and being buried under the ice. In 1981, amateur explorers Richard Taylor and Pat Epps began a mammoth quest to locate and retrieve one of the aircraft.

Is this the story of 'Glacier Girl'??

A very nice documentary which shows the sheer resilience (and amount of dosh) it takes to retrieve a P38 buried under 250ft of glacier (yup, 250ft!). Took a few attempts over 12 years but they did it, restored it and the P38 looked lovely flying again. Thing is, there's 5 more where that came from. Anyone got a few shovels?
