G'day

When I was in Canada last year I started hearing rumours of a Toronto - Jo'burg route being started. Using A340-500 machines.

Nothing has happened on this front yet. Another rumour has it that the A/C didn't have the range that was promised by Airbus. They would have had to operate with some empty seats.

Any truth in these rumours?

Can anyone maybe add more info?

Much obliged.:ok:

would be great if this could happen. What about the flight from JNB to Washington(IAH).They could do another sector to (Toronto)YYZ and back to Washington.Lotsa people wanting to go and visit from Canada.

I understand that AC is quite dissapointed with the 340-500's and are looking at replacing them with the 777-300 ER so Jo'Burg is quite posible in a year or so.

Could look at one stop via LOS but if they uplift will need serious immigration checks!

Alternatively could stop at TFS for bucket and spade traffic. Means two reasonably evenly spaced sectors for one thing, could use 767s instead of long haulers.

Personally I'd prefer CPT :D
