University degree

just bout to get my CPL and want to do ATPL subjects be yrs end, was wondering if its worth doing a uni degree to improve my prospects for airline job?
How important is it to have a degree these days?

A lot of people seem to be doing degrees now days, not essential for flying an aircraft though. It shows extra commitment to study etc.
