Can anyone tell me what Air Contractors currently has on the fleet? Particularly interested to know if they have any F27s/Sheds.

Thanks!

Yes they do have F27s & Sheds, inherited from acquistion of BAC last year. ACL also have ATR freighters and some A300F.
They did have B722F types but I believe both of the remaining two have now gone south and east of Europe!

Didn't ACL also buy out Channex's F-27 fleet? I believe that they plan to retrain the BAC and Channex guys on to the ATR. They have both ATR-42s and ATR-72s now working mainly for Fedex. Do they still have a Herc flying around Europe on the Irish register?

Nope, MNG bought the Channex 27s.
Be interesting if MNG take further A300s...

Contractors have A300s, some on lease to EAT and the others fly for the FrenchPost.

Hello error_401,

As far as I know they have a total of 7 A300F4 and expending rapidly. 3 of those aircrafts operates on behalf of UPS.
Rumors says that 1 more A300 is coming mid March at EDDK.
I do not know the routes details of all those A300 expect that one of them fly to LYS-TLS from CGN.
Talks about adding 3 A300-600 or B767 to be operational this summer. Maybe B777-200LR Worliner Freighter lounch customer! :ok:

Happy contrails !

Rumours has it that Kuzu (www.kuzuairlines.com) is taking over the contract in China fromOrex.
Orex is about to bite the dust. People are leaving since they have not been paid for ages.

What can I say, some things never change...

Sorry - a bit o. t.

Hi Conc & Hansard,

the Herc EIJIV is still flying. Saw it in gatwick last time.
The former BAC crews from the Fokker&Shed are now under training in Exeter.Looks like they will get some 5 or 6 ATRīs this year.
As far as i know they have 3 A300īs,1 Herc,6 ATR,4 F27 and
3 Shed.

Saw the Herc in Stansted and one of the ex BAC F-27s in Glasgow. What is ACL like these days? Had several friends go to the 727s with them and said it was a good company but think all have now moved on as 727s withdrawn.

Good news for another Irish Airline!
The ATR is becomming very popular in Ireland with Aer Arran-and now Air Contractors is following suit-good news for you ATR guys!I believe from previous posts they are a good company to work for.

Question why is the ATR becoming a popular frieght option? and are Air Contractors using this Aircraft for pax use?

I presume these (ex Fedex) ATR42s will be used to replace the ex BAC Express Fk27s on the Fedex contract (Birmingham - Paris CDG etc..)

Not just to cover the BAC F27 but also to fly BUD and PRG which is flown by DAT and Emerald (Wetlease) at the moment.

ACL is using the ATR only for freight operations.

Good company to work for :ok:
