Kestral:

A meaningful subject line (e.g. "Ex-MYT DC10-10 rumoured crashed in Africa?") would probably get a better response...

Was it just the three DC 10's that MyTravel operated?

In the UK MYT operated 3 x DC10-10's and 1 x DC10-30 (G-BYDA). Ryan International (Sun Trips) also operated DC10's in the states which have ben in MYT colours for a while.

G-BYDA (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/663092/M/)

As for the thread question, dunno. Nothing being said in the African Forum. Would have thought it would have got a mention there if true.

Unsubstantiated rumour, still managing to put MYT in a bad light. Please remove or send thread to the recycle bin. And send the author too, if you will.

How does someone starting a rumour about an ex MYT aircraft put MYT in a bad light? If it's ex, then it's sold and therefore nothing to do with them.

still managing to put MYT in a bad light.
Yeah, we're too stupid to understand the "ex" at the front.

Mods, if you're going to bin the thread, chuck RoyHudd and dcjet after it.

PS Don't you think that the crash of something as big as a DC10 would make a news bulletin instead of just your mate being the only source of gross misinformation?

After the story with major incident at CAI with B707 last year, which haven't got any publicity while being just a step from accident and resulted in aircraft write-off, I would not be much surprised if suddenly no one will know about real DC10 crash...

G-BYDA is basking in the sun at Manchester UK.

Well if you can call it the sun, the rain. The manchester weather.

But i must admit, sombody has been playing with it over the last few days.

So says the slug.............

Dirty Albert is possibly going to fly today (14/Feb, 08:00) on a demo flight, probably one of the last times we'll see it fly at MAN.
