Time for another EDI bash huh? :ok: I won't be in striking distance of EDI until Monday, 15 August, so first available date for me is Saturday, 20 August. Is that too late in the month for everyone else? Saturday 27th is also okay for me, but that is probably going to be way too late in the month.

Weekend of the 20/21 August would be good for me too. CarltonBrowne is somewhat constrained by his roster but he'll make every effort.

Sounds good folks; I'm only at the other end of the M8 corridor.

Up for it if I'm invited.

Guess I better start thinking about some accommodation in EDI real soon. August is about the busiest time of the year there, so hotel rooms will go quickly - and be pretty damned exey! :uhoh:

Can anyone recommend a place that's likely to have accommodation available, at a reasonable rate? Last year, I'd left my overnight planning too late and had to pay an arm and several legs! :eek: :{

Could meet you there and have a chat re St Helena! There is always Dunfermline other side of the Forth, easy access. Davaar House Hotel cheap, friendly, good food.

I tell you, I'm up here at Uni for 9 months of the year (Sept-May), and what month do you choose? Bloody August. Just when I'm not around!

A heck of a long way to go for a drink and a chat, especially as we're both resident in the same basic portion of the southern hemisphere! :D I'll certainly be there but haven't made any accommodation arrangements yet because I'm waiting for CJ to confirm the date of the bash.

Will be in Paris for the airshow in June. Attending a reunion in August too so fair dink for the EDI bash if it takes place. Mrs E and the girls will shop till they drop but anything North of 50N is Arctic Circle to them. I'll dump them in Paris and change all the locks. Makes accommodation easier. But we really need to know.

PS - Air Show too?

I might be based up in Edi by then, if so, I'll make every effort to be there!

It'll be great to meet some mates and some new PPRuNers again. :cool:

13th clashes with another big event ( the Ca%di*f Blast) going on elsewhere in the country much to the south of you ComJam, so will not be able to make that date sorry.

I can't do any date in September so it looks like I'll miss this year's summer EDI bash. :sad: Worse still, it means that yet again I'll miss out on catching up with ATCBabe! :{

I am earmarked for Podea in Sept. Some big thing in Toulouse I can't think what it can be. Nothing important. So I'll try to make the EDI bash at the same time but what with being in Gay Paree for the airshow and having to see a mate get hitched in Qld the War Office (Mrs E) might put her foot down. She hates flying. But a beer in PNG would be nice. I'll show you what's happening in St Helena and pick your brains and bring some decent Sith Iffrican beer with me. If I make it I'll tell everyone you were a wimp and drink your share of the 80/-. There must be more to flying than pissy-assed bashes... but I hope not. Fond memories of EDI.

It died, mostly because it appeared nobody coul be ar*ed :)

Such a pity the Edinburgh Bash failed .. You could have had fun! .. I could have put up several people .. Also accommodation is plentiful as it is the end of the festival .. i would have arranged a bar-be-que .. You could have had horse rides and a game of golf .. St Andrews not far .. You sad lot .. :mad: :E

Hardly, over Thirty people were in Cardiff at the time mostly from this site having an enormous party weekend. We were also celebrating Reddo's Birthday. Only sad thing about it was that more of you couldn't know about it

I had two spare Friday nights and even two spare Saturday nights, while I was in Newcastle. This is the first year in ages that I haven't been to either GLA or EDI. A real shame. :{

Maybe somewhere around the same time next year?
