Hi,
I am looking for a ftp program to upload a website, nothing too glamorous, just something simple that will do the job.
Its my first time...
Any suggestions, any bad experiences,

Don't forget Windows Explorer can act as an FTP client
just type ftp://
[email protected] in an explorer address bar....

If you don't mind command line programs, Windows 2000 and XP (I think) include one. Open the Run option on the Start Menu, and type FTP.
I like FileZilla. It's free and pretty simple to use.

My program of choice is CuteFTP: http://www.cuteftp.com
It's not free, but is an easy to use program that does exactly what you need. I think you get a free trial when you download from their site.
WS_FTP LE was a popular free program, but it has now been replaced with WS_FTP home which can be used for 30 days until you need to part with cash. It was never my favourite but it has many followers: http://www.ipswitch.com
