Just wondering how much you'll be required to fork out for to buy a rating in a 737 or A320?

Who offers these ratings in NZ or Oz?

Let me guess.. buying a type rating means....Freedom..?

Thought they would've come to their senses by now and stopped asking guys to fork out $$ for a type rating only to have them leave within 12 months and go to Uncle Koru.

Anyway try Alteon Training (http://www.alteontraining.com/)

Have fun.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look.

You are right with Freedom - I had heard that there are three things you need to get a job with them. 1. Frozen ATPL or ATPL 2. B737 rating 3. A pulse.

Given that Air NZ pilots are doing some of the flying for Freedom, maybe the 320 type rating would be a better option since the next 4 arriving are for them.

BCF Breath. Alteon is only one provider and it does the 737NG not the Classic. According to their websites, In Melbourne there is Ansett Flight Training Centre and Endorsement Training Australia who provide 737 Classic simulator training.

Web: www.etaisnow.com

They can do B737 classic ratings and B737 NG Differences Training.

Ta, I knew there was another but couldn't for the life of me remember it.
Must be this big yellow thing in the sky we've only just started to see. Some call it...... a Sun.... musta fried my brain....

But I'd look for a A320 sim, although I'm not sure there are any NZCAA approved........
