used to be streamed (by the same folk?) on liveatc did it not?

You are correct in saying it's streamed through live ATC. Pat supplies it to LiveATC

I assume this won't ever happen in the UK - as has been debated else where as it is illegal to listen in on such broadcasts - even if people do it!

The reason why some of you may be having troubles accessing the site is mainly because it is still being developed! It wasn't supposed to be leaked until after christmas.

I am the Web Designer and am working hard to get it all finished by tonight. We have noticed a high influx of signups already (100+) and we hope this continues.

Another great site for live ATC, although in the USA, www.atcmonitor.com. It also includes a moving map, updated every few minutes, and includes doppler radar overlay. It is the Macey 1 arrival. Great site, very busy. Best times are in the evenings, in summer when thunderstorms are about.
