Screen turns itself off

I'm having problems with my laptop.

It's a 3 yr old Tosh satellite.

The screen flickers then turns itself off every so often. It will not come back on and then I have to reboot again. But after it's happened, it keeps on happening.

I've run virus scans but have turned up nothing.

It's intermittent and there is no sign of any pattern to it.

Any ideas anyone? It's really annoying!!!!!!!!:{

Most likely the backlight or its inverter board on the way out. You might be lucky and it's just a loose connection to one of these.
