Ring Air Niugini and ask to speak to Captain Aria Bouraga. Actually as they almost certainly won't give you his home phone number you could ask for someone at FLT OPS and they'll put you through to the Dash 8/F28/B767 Fleet Office and speak to someone there....whomever is in the office at the time....they may well give you Aria's number but more likely to recommend the next paragraph.

Alternatively...and this is a better way to do it...get on a PX flight to Port Moresby and go and see him, Aria, yourself. He is one of natures true gentlemen, he is seniority number 1 at PX and is in charge of the cadet programe.

If you have PNG citizenship you will almost certainly be offered a job as a Dash 8 First Officer within their cadet program. They will then pay for your ATPL subjects, if you don't have them already, and a career path will be laid before you through to a jet command under the National Precedence/Localisation system.

You'll be on local conditions as opposed to expat but the advancement will more than offset that...and in 10 years you can take the experience and go somewhere else...although don't tell Aria that.

For all it's many faults in other areas the quality of the training you will experience at PX is excellent.

Maski wori long Airlines of PNG...they'll just stick you in the RHS of something as well...possibly a twin otter...and they have no jets to play with later.
