Does anyone know how this happened? Was this the aircraft that the parachutests used?

No it is the same one flipped over on its back last summer at Thames, and the year before at Whakatane. (same pilot)

See, it is possible to do a wheels-up in a fixed gear aircraft!;)

Aircraft was fitted with STD 8.00 by 6 tyres. The late model brake kit had been installed prior to the first upsidedown incident. All accidents were pilot induced.

That makes it a balls-up not a wheels-up Desert Flower. ;)
