Hi all
Do any of you ex RAF guys out there have E.E. Lightning T-5 XV328 in your log books? The cockpit of this aircraft is now a resident with the Phoenix Aviation Museum at Bruntingthorpe Airfield, Leicestershire, England. We are trying to find out more of her history. Incidentaly she is open to the public on open days a few times a year and is imensly popular.

With a Serial No like that, I would hazard a guess it is an ex-Saudi or ex-Kuwait airframe. Airframes recovered from those 2 air forces back to Warton had UK Mil Serials allocated before the ferry.
Most, if not all RAF Production Batch T5s were XS***.
Hmm! AL1 follows. 11 Sqn had it around May 1987 'cus I flew it, several times. Moreover, a Google search on the Serial No produces many hits plus pictures etc. Apparently. there were 2 XV T5s, with XV329 coming to grief during 1971.
Slightly out on the repatriated Middle-East aircraft, they were ZF***s.

Lightning F6 XV328/T 5 Sqd. c/n B1/95021.
built 22/12/66, "Z" 29 Sqd, "T" 5 Sqd, "Y" LTF,"T" 5 Sqd(camoflage), "DY" LTF, "DU" LTF, "BZ 11 Sqd
Purchased by Mr. Arnold Glass and was transported to Cranfield airfield along with 5 other Lightning's.
The aircraft has since been broken up and the nose section is now privately owned at Bruntingthorpe Airfield
