This may be a false alarm, but I have just heard about a new virus contained in a harmless e-mail with a power point presentation attached called "life is beautiful.pps". Apparently it is fooling antivirus software and opening the file does very nasty things to the 'pooter. Stating that "life is not beautiful.

I have checked the title of the file on our search engine and can find no reference to it, but the information may be old hat by now as first reports of it occurred at the end of October.

If it is old hat Evo, please delete this post as I don't want to worry anybody unnecessarily, but it's new to me.

P.P.

Afraid it is a hoax. Came out of S. America nearly 3 years ago.

see Mcafee (http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp?id=description&virus_k=99307)

It is another good way for the spammers to harvest email addresses, and I suppose that there is a good chance that anyone who will pass on a hoax will open a fake attachment as well.
