Take a look at this homepage, because this guy is fantastic!

Rune Karlsens F-14 simulator (http://home.online.no/~rkarl3/F14%20simulator.htm)

This is a norwegian guy who has taken the concept "flightsim enthusiast" to it's extreme: He has actually made an F-14 full motion simulator in his own living room.

Check out the three links on the bottom of the page which are small movies of his simulator in action.

He has made this simulator solely from pictures of the F-14 cockpit and by using toggle switches from K-mart, old hangers, curtain rods and stuff from his garage. What he is looking for now is a more detailed description of the switches and functions of the different items in the F-14 cockpit, so that he can make it even more realistic.

Does anybody have any inputs on that which they can share with him? I think just about anything that can give him a more detailed description of the F-14 cockpit or inputs from others who are involved in similar projects (if there is anyone...) would be of interest.

His email adress is [email protected]

The reason why I make this post for him, is that he is hesistating to do it because he doesn't think his english is too good. Therefore he asked someone else to post on this forum for him.
- And I think this guy should be given as much support as possible on this splendid project, if someone can help.

I wonder if he can get his simulator to do this:ugh:

F14 high speed break-up (http://69.59.131.177/Files05/fastplanegone.wmv)

Apparently, and remarkably, both crew did survive the high speed bang-out:ok:

God, you'd think it would have been easier to build an F-14....

i think the flypast on this page F14 flypast video (http://www.flightlevel350.com/search.php?action=search&type=detail&start=0&cat=0&where=addinfo3&date=0&sort=datetime&order=desc&match=exact&keyword=Military) is just as impressive and less costly to uncle sam.

This guy must be quite an engineer. I know all you "real" pilots out there won't think much of it. But I reckon something like that could be a very useful tool in recruiting youngsters into the Services.

Not that we need any help at the moment recruiting. Sure the CCF(RAF)/ATC/AEF flights etc are just as good recruitment tool though.

Good Effort on the Sim though!!!

That said, as a cadet myself something like that would attract many more young people to join I am sure.
