Any ideas folks?

Would be nice if it was a full motion one for thrills sake but not that important.

Cheers,

Cheapest I know of is AFT at Coventry (£1950), I'm booked in for December. I think LMU price match if you wanted anything further south

CBK

P.S. Neither are motion sims

Biggest waste of money I ever spent was an MCC Course!
When you get hired your airline will put you through one of their own...:{

Sorry Ennie but VERY FEW airlines will put you through their own MCC as very few are approved to do them.

Have a look at www.caa.co.uk and search out the list of approved FTOs. There a just a handful of airlines and Type Rating Training Organisations that do them - the rest just subcontract to other FTOs.

In fairness to Ennie I did hear that some airlines prefer that you do an MCC at an FTO of their choosing. If anyone can confirm or deny this I would appreciate views.

Do type ratings include the MCC component?

From what little I can fathom, there appears to be some mutual back scratching between airlines and some of these specialist FTOs.

Just done one in Bournemouth with EPTA. Same cost as those mentioned above. On a full motion TriStar simulator. Excellent course.

The fellow who runs the course is an ex BA 707/757/TriStar/744 captain. Amongst those who also instruct are a current 757 Captain, 744 FO and an ex RN fast jet pilot who went on to fly the BAC 1-11.

Groundschool was excellent, a mix of chalf and talk, videos, discussion exercises and sim demonstration.

Accomodation available in local area for about £15-£20 a night.

The Atlantic Flight Training MCC course is actually £1,995 inc. VAT. Done on a Beech 200 King Air FNPT II, one course starting every two weeks.

Cheers

When I did mine, the cheapest by far was The Flight Centre at Wolverhampton.
