Does anyone know of any websites or info on the availability of avgasand procurement around the Pacific.

Places of interest include

Lord Howe Island
Norfolk Island
Nuku Alofa (Tonga)
Raratonga (Cook Islands)
Apia (Western Samoa)
Pago Pago (American Samoa)
Nadi (Fiji)
Papeatee (Tahiti).

The RAAF ERSIE.....En Route Suppliment International East lists Avgas as available in all ports, but is that only for military operators.

Is avgas readily available, ie call up and a fuel truck arrives or do you have to pre ship fuel in drums.

any info would be much appreciated.

Gday,

I've been thru Nadi and Norfolk twice recently and avgas was no problem. We bought avgas on Norfolk with cash think it was $1.45AUD, cheaper if you've a mobil card. Might pay to ring ahead to check availability but I've never struck a problem. In Nadi the provider is "Juhi" freq. 129.725. They take cash and BP cards. Cash price was something like $2.10FJD! Be prepared for them to say "standby" whenever you call them. Don't take any s:mad: t, launch into what you want otherwise you'll be there all day and half the night (fiji time remember).

Hope this helps

In French Polynesia, you can get Avgas in Tahiti and Raiatea.
For other islands, you have to organise your own shipping.

Mate - 2.10 FJD works out to like 1.54 AUD anyway. The extra 9 cents diffference is the cost of transporting each litre the equivalent distance of Norfolk - Nadi. ;)

Could you take some photo's and post them here?
