Gidday all,

I have been thinking recently about the many different jobs available in Aviation. These range from Airline, Corporate, GA, Medivac, Survey, Firefighting, Remote Areas and so many others......

So I thought I might pose this question.

Who has the best job in Aviation?

Now it could be you, or someone you know, but there certainly are a variety of jobs out there, so which do you think has the best?

Cheers, HH.

I have the best job in aviation

I could tell you about it but...

A) You wouldn't believe me.

B) You'd only get jealous.

Currawong,

With regard to the guy in the chopper with the sign, I wonder how many responses he got? I mean Indy being Indy, I'm sure it would be lots.;)

Amos,
I must be missing something cause I am not sure quite what you mean.
"please explain" (said with best pauline drawl).

Cheers, HH.

Interviewing for, and deciding who gets hired as air hostesses of course. Would be far more fun than choosing the pilots.;)

I reckon that an airline Safety Manager has the best job of the lot, on the days when he has to supervise female FAs doing a ditching drill in the pool! :E

Amos..............PLEASE.........spell it out!!

I had a mate doing a beachwatch thing in a C337. All he had to say about the gig was that; the aircraft had very good freon air and they had a pair of VERY, VERY strong binos!!!!:sad:

Maybe not the best........but I'm sure the view didn't lack at times!

Retired with enough brass to fly for fun when the mood takes?

Every job I've had has been the best job going around...I've had a ball...have said more than once "This is too good to last"...and been subsequently proved correct.:{

Amos2,

Perhaps your thinking any job where your working, is the best job in aviation?

Cheers, HH.

Climbing up through cloud in an A Model 402, passing 12,000ft about thirty miles NNW of Kerema and finally breaking through into crystal clear air and seeing Mt Wilhelm still a long way off but the summit still a few thousand feet above me!
To this day I remember the shivver that ran up my spine but also had the thought that Chuckles put so well.
And in due course I likewise sadly found that the thought was correct :{

Didn't know that A model 402s could get up that high? How many hours did it take to claw your way up that far?!! :eek:

Ibex; Highest I ever took one was 17,500 and still had 400fpm climb if I remember correctly.
I have heard of a Talair pilot who got one to 28.000. No names available.
Besides I once got a 260hp BN2 to 17,000 and I know for a fact that it was far short of the unofficial PNG BN2 altitude record. An ex Talair Pilot may care to spill the beans on that one but don't hold your breath.

Nothing wrong here...just had a lovely couple of sectors in the 767 to KL and back.

I was talking about past good jobs that ended sadly...Talair etc.

I am happy as and staying right here thanks.

Hmm seem to remember having a C402A at FL 250 many moons ago..17000 was not uncommon in the old girls doing IFR RPT in the PNG Highlands....12 a doddle me thinks....must admit that much above 13-14 the magnetos started to cough and splutter, not being pressurised:uhoh: :ok:
