Yo

Having a few anxious moments here. Have applied to NATS and got through the initial assessment stage, booked the interview to happen on the 4th November which seemed to be ideal as i am meant to be heading up to West Drayton to have a look round on the 3rd in the afternoon and it would all be fresh in the mind.

Last Friday i recieved an email from Nats stating that their computer had overbooked and they were going to have to delay my interview until March. Bit extreme i thought and would really just like to see if they want me or not so emailled them and to cut a long story short, they managed to find me another slot. On the 1st November. Obviously the tour on the 3rd is going to be a bit late, but my brother arranged this through a friend of a friend who now appears to be on holiday. Please can someone offer me some advice as to how to get hold of either west drayton or anyone who would be able to offer me some of their time at an alternative place. i live in dorset but am willing to travel as the clock is well and truly ticking.

Firstly, well done for getting your interview re-scheduled

I had my second interview booked for the last week of Oct in Birmingham. I was really pleased to get a date only a month after the first selection day. A few days later I received a cancellation email due to some unforeseen circumstances??? Not a problem I managed to snap up a date for the following week when they appeared on the NATS web site, or so I thought about 2 weeks later another cancellation email due to the same computer error!!! (wait till March then......)

Why are they taking applications online if there are no jobs or places to train? I would apply to many jobs where the start date would be 12 months later if the job was good enough, however in this case there is no advertised start date or target to plan your life around.

Any comments? suggestions?

Ah ha, another dorset person!!

God only knows what is going on in the computer system at NATS. I emailled the HR team basically saying how hard i had prepared and surely if they had overbooked the interviews, then there must be a demand for them to be held, rather than wait until March which in all honesty, is a very long way away.

From sending that email which wasnt at all arsey or demanding, a sweet girl from HR phoned up to say that they had managed to find a free slot, which funnily enough was not showing up on the computer system.

what i will do - i havent got the number on me at the moment - but tomorrow morning i will be send you a private message with it. if i havent by about lunchtime, send me a reminder but will try and do it first thing.

let me know how you get on and remember stay calm, they arent going to be impressed with stress!!! ALl of it seems like a massive test - or am i becoming paranoid?!
