I am currently flying the 757 and have a friend going on to the 737NG. He has no glass time and I would like to give him abit of headstart on the 737 FMC. My question is this, does the 737NG have the same modes as the 757 ie. FLCH, VNAV SPD/PATH, LNAV etc and use the same principles?

Thanks

I think some options are programmable and vary with the operator but have a look at:-

for the basics.

I've flown the 737, 757 and 767. Yes a look at the 757 fmc would help. Major difference on the 737 has been the descent page. There are clearly many differences however.

It depends as well on the update. I flew 767s with an 2.5 update and 737's with updates 5, 8.5 and on the 767, you could not create waypoints from waypoints, or use on fix page an distance ark based on /miles(slash say 25 miles)for msa, for instance. But you can get the idea...

Safe flying...
