All applications are now on-line through their website.

Go to careers, then "pilot" : the on-line application start point will appear. Simple.

No charge for applying !!

Can't see any difference from before. It's been a .pdf pplication form for ages. They were promising online applications from mid-September but it didn't happen. Wake me up when you've got some news.....:p

Just found the new application form although I am losing the will to live with some of these.....

It’s no longer PDF.

Interesting question:

Did you attend a CAP 509 or JAR FCL full length integrated course:

Does this mean they are not interested in Modular?

I'm getting more and more concerned by the day about the growing number of applications clearly asking about attendance on an integrated course. Could it really be that for airline positions, you need to have gone down the integrated route. After all UK airlines do seem happy to take low timers on so why not go for the people who have gone the 100% intensive route.

Not good

Checked the website today at work, and sure, there it is with the new online application. Came home to fill it in and its back to the old PDF. Whats happening?

Some other questions on the new form which will allow them to weed out plenty of applicants:

Weight/Height? I'm fat
Do you hold a British Passport? Err, no
Where do you live? England.....failed again!

weight and height is an odd one, you may be short but quite heavy but not fat, if that makes sense. differnt people have differnt body builds. bit unfair i think, maybe we should send pictures with the form :)

Beware!! Filled in 2 pages, pressed the "next" button expecting to see page 3 but got a message saying "your application has been accepted" I had hoped to check it/copy it.

And the form said "refer to guidance notes" but I couldn't see any - have I missed something??

Felt as though there were bits missing. None of the usual "why do you want to work for Loganair". Do I detect technical difficulties or indeed, operator deficiencies (ie am I a thicko)?

There was a 2-digit number in red at the top of the application form - does it perhaps signify the number of applications submitted? If so, tomorrow it may be a 4-digit number.

In the past, Loganair expressed the most interest in local self-improvers, I assume because they experienced better retention of these pilots who were from, and wanted to be based, in Scotland.

If they now give preference to Integrated bods from Oxford or Cranfield... well that's a complete shift in their thinking.

In my opinion, these guys will be the first to run off to easy when the 1,500 hours are served... :uhoh:

From the second page it will not allow me to proceed until
@highest qualification achieved' is filled in, yet I do not have PHD/masters/degree/HND. Not an option for 'non of the above' so I am a little unsure about what to do?

Suggestions anyone?

I filled in the app form yesterday and didn't get an email sent through. Filled it in again this morning and an email appeared.

Bit of an amateurish attempt all around by Loganair if you ask me.

you won't be wanting a job then, Number Cruncher?

In the past year Loganair have recruited pilots from long courses and the modular route.

The experience levels at entry has been between 200 and +2000 hours for FOs on the Saab.

So how do they pick these (few) 200 hour-ish guys, compared to the hundreds in that category who must apply for the positions.

There is nothing obvious on the app form which would identify team players or tech. knowledge, and they can't interview say 500 low-houred people...

I am really curious about this because if I were a Chief Pilot in this scenario I wouldn't know where to start! Narrowing down my selection to those who already live in Scotland would seem an obvious starting point....

On behalf of a mate, anyone got any news on this - I see the website now states Loganair are not recruiting at the moment

What's going on!!???

Applied on line yesterday. I to was stunned at the two page form. Nothing on the application form to tell them what an all round good egg one is. The "Would my bum look fat in their uniform" part of the application form was as close as they got to finding out anything about the applicant. I can only assume that they have enough people and are purely using the form to sieve out the hundred that do not fit their profile.
i.e No one Welsh, (understandable), Irish or English over xxyears of age who does not eat all the pies!!

Of the last four FO's to be taken on, one is Scottish, one Irish and two English.

Moaning and cynicism however, may prevent you getting a job.:=

If anyone is suggesting that Loganair's recruitment is somehow racist please think again. You are throwing very seroius allegations around here boys, be careful!

Tackled the online form. Got two pages done; don't know if that was the norm. It unilaterally submitted itself before I could get any further. There was nothing at all about good eggery, as someone's said, or indeed educational qualifications or employment. Purely flying hours, and whether you can swim. (?!)

The acknowledgement thanked me for "updating" my application, which was unsettling, since it was the first I've submitted.

I'm worried now that it never got through, or that the system is such cack that it's being ignored. But: What do we do? Resort to the old-fashioned CV and risk having our faces up on "NOT Wanted" posters across the land, or sit tight in the usual fug of confusion and frustration?

I too completed the form and, never having applied before, received an email thanking me for updating my details.. but there was nothing to update cos they didnt have anything in the first place...
This also led me to thinking that perhaps my form didnt get processed correctly..?

I apologise for any offence caused to anyone of Welsh Nationality.

I did not realise how politically correct one must be on pprune and any attempt, (however weak) at humour was frowned upon.
I will now write my last post less any attempt of making light of the matter.

From my brief experience in filling in the two page on line application form, there was little human information that would have been useful to an employer in order to determine the character and strengths of the applicant. I presume that Loganair will determine any applicants progression on age and hours flown. On the weight and height question, personally, as an employer, the visual appearance of your employee’s is important to the marketing of your product.

For the likes of myself, (newly qualified CPL/IR/MCC, low hours & aged), our past achievements and experience outside aviation are our only hope of progressing to an interview before the hundreds like ourselves with the same limited experience in commercial aviation.

May I once again apologise if my initial post caused offence.

My post was not aimed (solely) at you mumbo, and no offence taken. (But then again, I'm not Welsh!;))

My post was more of a comment on a long standing tradition whenever Loganair is mentioned of stating that "us southerners have no chance of a job" when in reality that is blatantly untrue.
