ATC to be NICE?

Good Morning Ppruners,. .It is reported this AM that NATs has selected NICE Systems Ltd NiceLog and Nicecall voice recorder systems for several airports in the Uk, Nice systems of Israel have stated today, the first systems are to be installed at Gatwick, Glasgow and Eninburgh Airports.. .Will this mean all others have to wait to become Nice?. . :)

Be careful with that machines; we use this NICE-Logs, too, and we have nothing but trouble with them. Once you are to investigate an incident you can have a lot of surprises, including the return of a logger to the MOSSAD in Israel to have the data recovered!!

For my sins, I am also the IT Manager for a 200 Seat Call-Centre. We use NICE Log and are very unhappy with the system reliablity. On average, we cannot retrieve 4% of calls we need to. To some degree, this due to under-investment in training on our part, and also to inadequate design of the system on the part of the supplier, but ultimately we are left with very expensive system that does not perform as well as it should. On the bright side, the functionality is pretty good, when it works.
