Just heard the rumour that D-AEVA (http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=225571&WxsIERv=RmFpcmNoaWxkIERvcm5pZXIgNzI4LTEwMA%3D%3D&WdsYXMg=RmFpcmNoaWxkLURvcm5pZXI%3D&QtODMg=T2JlcnBmYWZmZW5ob2ZlbiAoT0JGIC8gRURNTyk%3D&ERDLTkt=R2VybWFueQ%3D%3D&ktODMp=TWFyY2ggMjEsIDIwMDI%3D&BP=1&WNEb25u=UGV0ZXIgVW5tdXRoIC0gVkFQ&xsIERvdWdsY=RC1BRVZB&MgTUQtODMgKE=&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=MTc1MDI%3D&NEb25uZWxs=MjAwMi0wMy0yMg%3D%3D&ODJ9dvCE=&O89Dcjdg=&static=yes&size=L), the Dornier 728 prototype, the most advanced regional jet, the plane with the most beautiful cockpit section since the Comet/Caravelle, the plane that is already existing and about the same as the C-Jet just planned, is beeing scrapped at the moment :( :{

Can anybody confirm ???

The same rumor appeared in:

Deutschland exportiert sein Wissen nach China (http://www.3sat.de/nano/cstuecke/70007/)

I read elsewhere that the large Chinese private company that bought the 728 programme last year is in financial trouble and that the Chinese state has moved in to save it.

Volume; "most beautiful cockpit" ? do you mean by cockpit-section the outside or the inside of that plane, and what exactly is/was beautiful about the Cockpit-section in question in your mind ? :confused:

and, to be honest, the Dornier 728 from the outside to me looks like a particularily ugly airplane --- while the "beauty" may be rather some hidden internal things:(

and finally, WHY is there nobody who buys that prototype for museum-purposes ? it canNOT be that expensive now ! :(

and why are folks so eager to scrap such objects in spite of the meagre financial gains ?

Does that mean the value of my 728Jet model just went up a few quid?

E-bay looms... ;)
