Mention of the Trident at Perth (Scone) in a thread in the Questions forum titled "Biggest AC, Smallest Airfield" reminded me that I had often wondered about the landing on Perth's 850 yard runway. Does anybody have any details on the flight which must have been quite something to see.

Thanks

It can only have come second to the Comet landing short on the grass at Strathallan.

Most impressive has to be the Ilyushin IL (VC10 lookalike) in a farmers field in southern Germany, now a restaurant.

What about the BAC 1-11, Vanguard and VC10 at Brooklands. When the VC10 landed in 1987 it had the longer length runway but by 1994 when the 1-11 arrived I believe the length was 502m. The Vanguard arrived a couple of years later in Oct 1996.
