Lovely selection of pictures mate. Have you had a look at my pictures yet? All of mine were taken on the Sunday as I couldn't make the saturday.

Richard, we were planning to go yesterday as well, but the other half wasn't ready in time so we went to see a (soon to be flying) Rearwin.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show, but I could have done with the additional day due to spending a little too much time socialising rather than concentrating on taking photos.

If you're ever at an Old Warden show, pop over and say hello - I'm the tall bald fat bloke with a big lens.

I've never yet been to a show at Old Warden, I keep saying I'm going to go yet I never get round to it!! I'll let you know when I finally get around to going to one though. Problem being work you see, don't you just love airlines!! I always look with interest at the pictures from Old Warden that you and others produce and keep saying I'll get there!

Where and what is a Rearwin? I don't think I've yet come across one of those.

I'm the tall lankey bloke, usually with a camera or two around my neck!!

Richard

Metal note to self - Must go to Old Warden!

Richard, the Rearwin is soon to be moved to Popham - it's currently in the vicinity.

When it's assembled it'll look similar to this:

Do try to get to Old Warden, it's a very good venue - the evening shows are particularly good.

Duxford Eagles, is that Melvyn Hiscock's Rearwin you went to see?

I recall in the dim and distant past - 1978 probably - watching Cobby Moore uloanding two Rearwins from a container at Biggin Hill. I had no idea what they were and was none the wiser after asking Cobby!

After rebuild, one appeared in a nice Pan American scheme which presumably was authentic... Both are now de-registered, wonder what happened to them...

Great pics on both Chailey threads chaps - think that is a fixture in my diary next year if they are doing it.

Some great photos. Looks like it was a fabulous day although perhaps too warm for comfort.
I well remember the first tentative approach to me at the CAA back eight years or so when the idea of an airshow at Chailey was first mooted after some fifty odd years. I am glad that the advice given has resulted in a show to be proud of in its third iteration. Congratulations to all concerned.
Wish I had been there.

What is that American thing, 10th and 11th down? It really looks like a Spitfire wing and tail with a Yankee beer barrel fus..
If the 10th IS the same a/c, it obviously isn't actually a Spit wing as the u/c is 'wrong'. Was it a copy to try to get the handling?

Treadigraph, yes it's Melvyn's Rearwin, and what a beauty it is too. It's a testament to all his hard work.
