Do the airlines recognize pt 61 as much as they do 141? Can someone fill me in on the pros and cons of going pt 61? I am in a 141 school right now and want to slow down, I feel as if I am going too fast for my own good and would like to get some more experience on my own flying cross countries and stuff. If anyone has any info on this topic please help.

Alpar - airlines, regionals and commuters don't care whether you qualified under 61 or 141, your license is the same no matter what syllabus you followed. There are no penalties for dropping a 141 course and going the regular 61 route, but there are flight time penalties for going the other way! However do bear in mind that a part 61 CPL needs 250 hours total time whereas 141 needs only 190. Ultimately hours in the logbook count so a 61 course would make sense, particularly multi-time wherever possible, cross country, night, IFR - putzing around the pattern in a C152 isn't quality time. hope this response helps/

Hey guys,

Agree with cfimei all the way its whether you want more
hours at the end, really depends on the person.
I think part 61 is faster although its more money.
