hi guys,

Looking to get a job in a flight operations department and dont really know where to start first. Is it the airlines themselves who have there own individual ops' dept's?? Anybody out there who works in flight ops that can give me a push in the right direction??..

Cheers

You might want to post this in the Flight Ops Forum...lots of experienced help available! And if you have a search, this type of thread has been started a few times...

Most airlines have their own Ops Departments working 24/7. A very few choose to out-source to Flight Ops Support companies - such as Navtech at LGW look after Air Scandic due to it's mainly summer only operation.

If you have no experience and (as you posted in this forum) have ambitions to go on and fly for a living, also look at flying schools/GA companies - usually a good place to start and less demanding - most airlines will be asking for some form of operations experience due to the nature of the job...

Handling agents also a good place to start with an excellent learning environment...
