Hi All just wondering if someone knows under the new JAA system if you now get a blanket cover instructor rating instead of the old system where it is type specific.
I am referring to helicopters as I am just about to renew my licence and whant to know the answer. I am presently listed to instruct on two types of helicopters but have a total of 5 types all of which are current at a struggle.
Any info appreciated.

Don't know about helos but for normal aircraft the instructor rating covers you for aircraft within a class e.g. single engined piston but then to teach on a particuler type you need to have flown 5 hours in it (probably P1 but can't remember).
You could try searching the JAA website at www.jaa.nl (http://www.jaa.nl) (I think).

You must retain all helicopter Types current if you wish to instruct on them. There is no blanket cover.
