In the latest edition of Airliner World there is a list of who flies what a/c etc... It states that Excel Airways fly 747's. I work as CC and don't know anything about it! Can anyone shed some light?? Perhaps confusion with Air Atlanta's fleet??

Excel Airways have certainly offered 747 aircraft under an XLAnnn flight number. See last year's schedule (http://www.excelairwayscargo.com/schedule.pdf). You will need Adobe Reader

Hi All,

I can shed some light on this for you, as i worked for Excel Airways for 2 years (operations).

The aircraft is indeed an Air Atlanta 747 classic and is operated by none other than Air Atlanta!! on behalf of Excel Aviation and on most occasions took on Air Atlanta flight numbers (ABD), however did at one point operate under XLA, for various sub charters.

This is not an uncommon site at Excel as they until the begining of the year had an Azzurair A320 operating flights for them again for Excel Aviation, until Azzurair stop operating, it then i beleive went to Air Malta

One could say that they have there fingers firmly in every pot!!!

Good Luck All at XLA with the Summer!!
