Would be grateful for piece of advice - can't remember answer to this one

Bi annual out on Sept 2nd. Want to revalidate SEP land rating, (by experience), on Aug 13th, (due to extended break out of country).

Because I'm revalidating early (nearly 3 weeks in advance), what will be the next renewal date? ie do I lose the 3 weeks, or are they 'tagged on' to the next renewal date?

Thanks in advance FD

Date of expiry of the revalidated rating will be two years from the expiry date of the existing rating.

FD - are you talking JAA??

They are not called "Bi annual" (not actually called that under FAA anymore - but most people still do).

As said - revalidation will run to 24 months from previous expiry date.

Also, SEP revalidation by experience can be done anywhere during the second 12 months, provided the experience requrements are met. New 12 month perio d will run from the expiry date of the current rating.

I signed an instructor off once on her 3rd day in the second 12 months, since she had done 12 hours and had just done an IR renewal with me, thus meeting all the requirement for a SEP renewal by experience.
