Can anyone confirm that a Tristar landed and was serviced by Engineering at SEN many years ago. I am convinced that I recall seeing a picture in one of the aviation mags but have not been able to find anything since.

Don't think it was that many years ago (mid/late 90's rings a bell).

Think it was either a Aer Turas (or whatever their pax offshoot was called?) or Classic Airways example.

Runway needed to be dry and to have some wind blowing along it in order for this to be safely accompished IIRC.

I remember seeing it there - it was the ex- Aer Turas with the TWA cheatline - got a photo of it somewhere. (Not SEN though). It was stuffed up in that eastern corner.

Here's one:

Tristar EI-COL Aer Turas at Southend 03/10/98 (http://www.rob.clubkawasaki.com/jas5404.jpg)

That aircraft has been broken up in March 1999.
