I heard Canada3000 ( C3 ) was starting up again. Does anyone have any information on Pilot jobs there. Has anyone been interviewed or hired yet. How about currency requirements and working conditions. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

No record of License application at the CTA under this name and not likely to be since all Union contracts would still be valid.

No other application looks like a prime suspect so methinks this will be some time in coming.

Canada 3000 may fly again: T.O. businessman
CTV.ca News Staff

A Toronto businessman has plans to "restart" bankrupt airline Canada 3000 and renew its charter services to Canadian holidaymakers.

The airline's collapse in 2001 left more than 4,000 of workers out of a job, as well as thousands of passengers stranded.

But Mike Low aims to re-launch the carrier with a new look and a focus on vacation routes.

"We're focused on our core business, which will be the leisure market, with the Caribbean in the winter time and the U.K. in the summer time," Low said.

Low said he aims to raise $25 million by the end of the year. But money isn't the only obstacle; Low will still face the major hurdle of obtaining an operating license, which could take months.

News of the airline's rebirth won't inspire much faith in those let down by its previous failures.

Former Canada 3000 flight attendant Jason Dietrich still hasn't received his severance from the old airline.

"I took a big financial blow," he said.

He now works for the police service and said he has no plans to return to his old job if Canada 3000 takes flight again.

"I think I'll just move forward with the police service rather than going back to the airlines," he said. "I wish them all the success in the world."

“Canada 3000 could return as a charter carrier in December”

“A group of investors is planning to launch a new Canada 3000 in December with a fleet of two Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

According to the new airline’s co-founder Michael Low, the new airline’s only connection to the previous Canada 3000 - which filed for bankruptcy in November 2001 - is the operating name. The new carrier is not liable for the previous carrier’s debt, adds Low.

The new Canada 3000 has yet to gain an air operator’s certificate, and the owners are still deciding the AOC’s classification and even ownership. This will affect the airline’s ability to operate scheduled services, but could still leave the airline with a charter license.

A majority of the $25 million initial investment has been raised and “500 emails a week” are received offering to join the backers, says Low. He adds that less investment may be required if the initial AOC is rented.

Low will not currently discuss the ownership of the two 757-200s, although he says they are UK registered aircraft. More details could be available in two weeks.

The airline will begin a recruitment drive in July, adds Low, with the first crew employed by September. The two aircraft will require five crews, consisting of 20 pilots and 50 flight attendants, says the co-founder. Maintenance issues are still being discussed.

These crews will be based in Hamilton, Ontario, and operate nonstop services to the Caribbean, Mexico and the USA, says Low. Cancun, Mexico, Havana, Cuba and Montego Bay, Jamaica will be served twice weekly, while Fort Lauderdale, Florida could get as many a three flights a week. Canada 3000 will use one gate at its Ontario base airport.

A two-page web site, flycanada3000.com, has been established to promote the new Canada 3000. The site says the airline will begin operating on 14 December. The site’s home page also includes an artist’s rendition of the airline’s livery, which mimics the previous Canada 3000 except for its ‘animal tail’. This tail resembles those currently used by US low-cost Frontier Airlines.

Low says he has been working on the Canada 3000 trademark since July 2002, when it was offered in the public domain. He explains that the original Canada 3000 never owned its trademarks, and had filed for bankruptcy before it could own the nine applications filed by management in early 2000.”

Why you say good luck that Angus is not there?

He was the problem there in the first place.

Why you think we lost all our jobs there?

It is GOOD LUCK that Angus is not there.
