Air Wales doesn't do LCY/Cardiff??!!!

Hi all - I am deciding how to get to the Cardiff bash in August and was browsing the Air Wales site for flights. Lo there is a price and a flight number for flights from LCY to CWL and back again.

I then decided to check out the LCY website (you can tell I am in a browsing mood this lunchtime, can't you) and spotted a "book flights from LCY here" button - I press it but Cardiff is not listed as a destination. Wondering about this, I then check the LCY online departures board for tonight (the flight I will want to take is a Friday evening) and... there is no such flight and the alleged departure time has an Air Wales flight OK but going to Swansea with a different flight number. Woss going on?!!! :hmm:

Not 100% but I think Air Wales goes via Cardiff to Swansea.

Thanks alterego and TimS .. if it is a via CWL flight that would make sense but the Air Wales website will sell me a ticket for flight 6G105 which isn't shown as departing from LCY - the 1805 departure is for Swansea and code 6G103 at 1805hrs... interestingly enough TimS's info has 6G105 to CWL hehehehe !!!

I don't want to book, get my email confirmation and then rock on up to LCY on the day months hence to be told that the flight is full and my booking is wrong somehow!

If you go to the LCY website again and click on "Airline schedules" you will see that they show the evening flight to Cardiff quite OK. But Air Wales has not taken advantage of the on-line booking facility, although they have their own facility on their own website.

Their flights always go to Cardiff and some continue from there on to Swansea, but not on Tuesday and Wednesday because apparently Swansea can only run to a tower controller 5 days of the week, and so is A/G only on those days, hence no scheduled services !

The Air Wales timetables on their own website are notorious for being shown screwed; there was a thread about it on here recently !

I think it's most unlikely the flight will be full. Apparently they are having a bit of a thin time with it. Good luck to them.

All our LCY services go to CWL (unless all the pax are going to SWS, in which case we go direct)

Flight departs LCY at 18.05 and takes about 45 mins.

A little concerned by your posting - www.airwales.com is selling seats from LCY to CWL and to SWS for August - no service on Saturdays. All at £49 one way all in. And for the record, the timetable at www.airwales.com is now spot on.

6G does not at present distribute seats via GDS - therefore the LCY site won't show them (GDS distribution is MASSIVELY expensive - and the new 6G site does a better job anyway).

For the record, loads out of LCY are rising quite nicely, and have been full on Fridays and Mondays for some weeks now.
