Airline Defecits

According to my calculations the entire airline industry, that is all airlines added together since 1914 has still not made a net profit. Almost all suppliers to airlines have made profits and some of them have done very well. The worst airline performance has always been in the biggest part of the industry, that is the network airlines in the USA. 2004 looks to be another horrible year there.

Sure, it is possible to make monety in the industry but you have to be very good at what you are doing.

Ryanair manage very well, even if they don't sell paint...;)

The airline industry has always been a good way of making a small fortune..... out of a very large one. With a few notable exceptions that trend will probably continue, but I'm neither an airline expert nor an economist....

Richard Branson once said on television that the way to become a millionaire is to start as a billionaire and then invest in the airline industry.
