CTC ATP clarification

I've done a search on the ATP scheme, but it seems from the majority of posts that people are confusing the ATP scheme with the CTC Cadet Sponsorship Scheme.

I just wanted to know 2 things:

1) What is the selection process for the ATP scheme?

2) Is there an age limit for applicants?
