Hi All,

Have a flight with Excel in July to PMI. Never flown with them before and have read some good reports from last year or 2 in other posts. Are they still any good, knowing how things change or am I better off flying with BA or someone else to PMI instead?

Thanks

Fingers

How much did you pay (or expect to pay) with Excel. BA do have cheap (from £35 each way excl taxes) from Gatwick in early July.

I don't know about Excel, but you know what you get with BA.

Excel are basically just another charter carrier. But you will probably be on a new 737-800 (less than 5yrs old), with leather seats and a seat pitch that isn't that bad by charter standards. Good on time performance, bog standard hot meals, IFE (probs not a film because of flight time) and expensive drinks. If you are unlucky you will be on an ancient 757 with broken seats, lights, ife etc.

Ended up going with Excel. Can anyone in the "know" at Excel let me know what type I will be going on? 737-800? Flying on July 3rd from Gatwick to PMI on XLA5098. Thanks!!!

Seeing as everyone is asking questions about the a/c type that they will be on, thought I'd chirp in.
Flying next monday on XLA2122 MAN-DLM, a.c type is?
Oh and also the SCY6912 on the return flight a week later?
Cheers for any help

XLA5098 on the 3rd July is infact scheduled to be a Boeing 757-200, same type for the XLA2122 to DLM. as for the SCY, that will be one of Air scandics lovely Air busses... A310 i think..

On the Air Scandic website, it says the SCY6912 is operated by A300, but it also says it doesnt operate on the day on which Im flying on it . Hence the reason for my asking. Its SCY6912 on the ticket, so assume that it must be operating and that it is a mistake on their website.

Thanks Graham - do you know if the 757 is up to "Normal" Excel spec - leather seats etc?

No idea at all. Unfortunatly I aint in the aviation business (I'm too stupid :{ ) but I also am not a spotter :)
I just like to know about the flights I am taking and that are available from the closes airport to me (which if you discount Carlisle, is Newcastle).
I know you pilots aint too fond about non-pilots on this website but I hopefully try to add a tiny bit of info to the discussions.

Anyway, anyone know what the XLA 757s are like?

Yup, up to spec! All of the aircraft in XLA colours (b737/757/767) have the nice fancy leather covers! Enjoy!
