Since EZY are keeping a bunch of 737-700s and operating a mixed fleet of 73G/A319 aircraft, does anyone know which bases will keep the 73G, places like Bristol and Stansted perhaps which have the 733 now?

I assume Gatwick will become all-Airbus before long.

Not always understood is that Easy are not only keeping the 737, but are still taking delivery of new ones from Boeing. They expect 5 in 2004 (G-EZKB and up), some have already come. Real dual sourcing.

Indeed, G-EZKE (a 73G) was due for delivery yesterday, with another 2 for delivery before the end of May.

Presumably 733s are being WFU as the new 737s arrive...

The ex-Go 733 are already being disposed of.
G-IGOA/C/E/F, G-OGVA have been returned to their lessors.

So back to the question... at which bases are these 733s being replaced with 73Gs, and which will ultimately keep the latter?

No firm long-term decisions yet beyond the initial A319 bases.....GVA/LGW/SXF/DTM. No decision/announcement as to which will be the next base to convert to Airbus.

Even after ALL the old 733's have gone, there are still 44 "new" Boeings (12 -300's and the -700's) which were all ordered direct from Boeing which will all remain in the fleet for at least the next 4 or so years, until all 120 firm Airbus aircraft have been delivered. (i.e. A fleet of 120 Airbus + 44 Boeings)

Has anyone any idea what the fifth aircraft to be based at NCL will be? 733 or 73G? We have 3 x 733's and 1 73G currently.

BRS seems to have a couple of NGs now - which I think leaves 4 -300s.

I think NCL is now 3 x 73G and 1 x 733, proposed to be all 73G when the 5th a/c arrives in May.

I have just checked the Bristol Airport live apron website and 700 series G-EZJN is currently parked on stand 1 having just worked in as EZY 6056 from Malaga and is shortly to depart as EZY 6131 to Venice.

I hadn't realised that BRS had any based 700s. This series has been seen at BRS for a while when NCL and BFS based aircraft have worked in with some rotations from those airports.

-JL is knocking around too I think, it came in on Tuesday night from LTN and has been doing BRS-based rotations since.

The BRS crews (mostly/all ex-Go) have been going through the NG conversion training recently so this has been planned for a while.

I wonder if BRS will become an all 73G airport?

Edit: And what do you know, G-EZJL just came in from Nice, going out to EDI.

Understand there are to be 4 x B737-700s based at STN by mid-summer with 1st arriving in June.

-KE was delivered on Wednesday (31/03). Does that just leave 2 73Gs on the delivery list, for end Apr & mid May?

BRS is to be a mixed 300 and 700 base for this year with either 3 or 4 out of 6 aircraft being Next Generation. The first 700 is in place with more to come over the coming weeks as pilots get their line sector checkouts on the type.

All 737-700's have the new flightdeck layout as far as I am aware - I didn't know you could order a 700 with the half glass/half steam flightdeck...

Would that be SouthWest again telling Boeing how their aircraft must be...?

WWW, it still has the 6 screens but conventional instruments are created on them just as in the -300.

You were right it was done for SouthWest!

As far as I know all Next Gens - 700,800,900's have totally glass cockpits.

The NGs have a few options for the PFD/ND instrument setup - basic 777-style (EZY have this):

Or "like a 733":

Carriers can also opt to have all engine instruments on the upper screen:

Or split between upper and lower (EZY have this):

This is of course in addition to the hundreds of other customer options a carrier can specify regarding the instruments, like single-cue or crosshair flight directors, AOA indication, altitude callouts, etc... etc...

Just back from London and when I arrived into Luton on Saturday morning, I noticed that -EZKE was parked-up infront of one of the hangers opposite the terminal.
