Wrote the M&B ATPL exam yesterday, scoring 73% =(
I'm trying to convince the CAA to approve one of my complaints on a specific question, and would like the forum members to have their opinion in it.

Question:
"For the purpose of completing Mass and balance documentation, Operating mass can be said to be Dry operating mass plus:

A. Ramp fuel
B. Take off fuel
C. Trip fuel
D. Ramp fuel, less APU and start-up fuel

Correct answer is stated as B, whilst I answered A.
The CAP manual states Operating mass to be DOM + fuel but without traffic load. So the question is what fuel is it? =)

Couldn't find anything in JAR-OPS confirming any of the three answers...

Crossing my fingers!

Regards
/Magnus

Sorry to say my friend but I doubt the CAA will budge on this one as any fuel planned to be burnt prior to brakes release is NEVER included in TOM calculations.

It is certainly considered for Max Ramp wt. This is certainly covered in the Bristol course and I would be very surprised if any other school dosent explain this. Good luck though and all the best for the resit. :ugh:
