Hello! I am interested in pursuing my IFR rating in WA - Perth. Can anyone here kindly advise me some good institutions I can consider? I have run through a preliminary research and idenified following schools:

- Air Australia
- Minovation
- The Aeroplane Company
- Aviation Institution of Australia

Any idea which one is better in term of teaching quality, reputation and price attractiveness.

Thank a lot!

I have recently returned from a holiday in Perth.

I flew with the Aviation Institute. I was very impressed with the CFI, Mark Roper who I think does most of their advanced training.
The outfit is owned by an English lady who was most helpful. It is a small but very friendly organisation.

On a prevous trip I flew with Royal Aero Club. It is a much larger and I found it quite impersonal.

Both organisations are based at Jandakot airfield which is busy but well run.

I strongly recommend Perth as a training base. Although the Aussie dollar has strengthened over the past year, prices are still very cheap by UK standards. Approximately half price for flying.

Good luck
