Just watched a very good documentary on the Swissair MD-11 disaster.
The Canadian investigation clearly blamed flammable insulation on electrical wiring in the IFE system.
I remember seeing a Panorama documentary on Kapton some time ago. Is this the same material implicated in the Swissair incident?
Presumably Kapton is a tradename - are there other similar materials? And what is the current legislative position. Tonights programme suggested that all such material must be removed in the next couple of years.
