What do I need to do to change my JAA CPL/IR into a US licence or should i say get a US based on my UK licence. At PPL level it is purely paper work I have found that much info ont he FAA website but I don't seem to find anything about CPL?

You have to pass the written tests and the flight tests. This means getting some instruction and a signoff.
